Ghosts of Forests (2025)

Ghosts of Forests is a series of analogue black and white images depicting temperate rainforests taken on a large format camera using 5x4 inch negatives and hand-printed in the darkroom. Temperate rainforests are one of our most biodiverse habitats but have shrunk from once covering a fifth of our landmass in the UK to under 1% today, surviving in small, isolated pockets and are at risk of disappearing altogether. Taken around Devon and Cornwall, Ghosts of Forests explores my connection to these woodlands that were a part of my childhood, and my sense of sorrow as I document these special places that could be lost within my lifetime.
